Privacy & Data
Your data, answered.
-
All financial data is stored locally on your device with four hardware-backed security layers including AES-256 encryption. Pibo Money does not operate servers that store your financial data.
-
No. Pibo Money does not connect to banks or financial institutions. You enter transactions manually or through chat. When you ask about your finances, the assistant can look up relevant figures from your on-device data (such as balances or recent transactions) to answer, and your message is sent with limited financial context. Your complete database is never uploaded.
-
Absolutely. AI features are fully opt-in. You can use accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, debts, and reports without enabling AI. Consent is requested the first time you try AI chat or receipt scanning.
-
Your message is sent together with limited financial context needed to answer it — your account and category names, balances, and a summary of recent spending or budget status. When you ask about specific records, the assistant may read relevant transactions to respond. The AI service is stateless: it stores no chat history and retains neither your message nor its financial context after responding. Your complete transaction history is never sent in bulk and your full local database is never uploaded. Suggested transactions and answers arrive as draft text, which you review before anything is saved to your local database.
Subscriptions & Billing
Billing questions.
-
Open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Pibo Money → cancel. You can also manage the subscription from the Profile tab in the app. Access continues until the current billing period ends.
-
Open the Profile tab in the app and tap "Restore Purchases." If the issue persists, sign out and back in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase, then restore again. If still unresolved, email pibo_support@icloud.com with your Apple order number.
-
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your Pibo Money subscription. Apple processes all refund requests according to their refund policy.
Features
Using Pibo effectively.
-
Yes. Core budgeting, transaction entry, and report generation all work offline. AI chat and receipt scanning require an internet connection because they call an external AI service, but every other feature works without a network.
-
Yes. You can generate Spending by Category, Net Worth, Monthly Summary, Budget Performance, Tax Summary, and Transaction Export reports as PDF or CSV files from the Reports area in the app. CSV export requires a Plus or Pro subscription.
-
Tap Profile → Backup & Restore and choose a passphrase to create an encrypted backup file. It is encrypted on-device before export, and you save it wherever you like — Files, iCloud Drive, or share via AirDrop. Keep the file and its passphrase in a safe place; only your passphrase can decrypt it, and Pibo keeps no copy.
-
First, check your internet connection — AI features require network access. If you have a connection, try signing out and back in. If the issue persists, email us with your device model and iOS version.
-
Delete the app from your iPhone. iOS will remove all associated local data. Pibo has no cloud account, so there is no server-side data to delete. If you saved an exported backup file to Files or iCloud Drive, delete that file separately from wherever you stored it.
