All financial data is stored locally on your device with four hardware-backed security layers including AES-256 encryption. Pibo Money does not operate servers that store your financial data. The data never leaves your device unless you explicitly trigger an AI feature or backup.
No. Pibo Money never connects to banks or financial institutions — you enter transactions manually or through chat. When you ask the assistant about your finances, your message is sent with limited financial context (account and category names, balances, and a spending or budget summary), and it can look up relevant figures from your on-device data — such as recent transactions in a category — to answer. The AI service is stateless: it stores no chat history and retains nothing after it answers. Your complete database is never uploaded, and any change the AI proposes is a draft you review before it's saved.
Absolutely. AI features are fully opt-in. You can use accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, debts, and reports without enabling AI. Consent is requested the first time you try AI chat or receipt scanning.
Yes. Core budgeting, transaction entry, and report generation all work offline. AI chat and receipt scanning require an internet connection because they call an external AI service, but every other feature is available without one.
All three tiers store every byte of your financial data on-device. Free covers unlimited accounts, budgets, goals and debts, full PDF + CSV exports, 5 AI messages a day, and 3 receipt scans per month — enough for most people. Plus ($1.49/wk, $2.99/mo or $24.99/yr) raises AI to 50 messages a day, scans to 15 a month, and unlocks AI insights, forecast tools, weekly summaries, and encrypted backup & restore. Pro ($2.49/wk, $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr) adds 150 AI messages a day, unlimited receipt scans, advanced reports, and scenario simulation. Annual plans start with a 1-week free trial, and bringing your own AI key makes messages unlimited on any tier. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from inside the app any time. Prices shown in USD; final App Store pricing may vary by region.
Yes. Pibo supports Bring Your Own Key (BYOK): point the app at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — including a local Ollama server — from Settings. With your own provider, AI messages and receipt scans are unlimited on any plan, and with Ollama everything runs on your own hardware, so no chat data leaves your device at all. Your keys are stored only in the iOS Keychain and are never shared.
Yes — both annual plans (Plus and Pro) start with a 1-week free trial, so you can try every paid feature before you're charged. Weekly and monthly plans do not include a trial. The Free tier itself is free forever, with no card and no expiry.
Plus and Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions billed monthly or annually through Apple. Plans renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. To cancel: open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → select Pibo Money → cancel. You can also manage it from the Profile tab inside the app. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
